(PRWEB) -- A grass roots movement of hundreds of local
bands and artists have started posting pictures, music, bios
and videos of their work on a web site called
sdmusicmatters.com. The site provides totally free services
for musicians and artists and promotes the local music and
cultural scene.
The result is a massive database and millions of hits a
month from all over the world. Furthering it's goal to
promote local musicians, the group has released it's first
compilation CD, produces charity concerts and is now
releasing a 4-color magazine showcasing local music and
culture.
For bands needing help, sdmusicmatters provides free access
to staff writers, photographers and videographers to help
them develop their media kits. Staff from sdmusicmatters
attend band events for live photo shoots, perform in studio
interviews and press photography, and write background bios
for the bands. The site then posts, also at no charge, band
bios, mp3s, live photos, live video, video interviews, and
studio shoots. These free services are offered to local
bands and musicians of all genres.
“SDMusicMatters.com has been extremely helpful to our band
in many ways. They have taken very professional photos and
live video of us and have contributed a wonderful page to us
on their website using those materials. Their staff is very
professional and super fun to work with. SDMusicMatters.com
is an excellent portal for up and coming bands, and I think
they are the most creative and innovative music site in
existence.” -Aaron Goulding (Singer/Writer)-PRIDEBOWL (SD)
"Finally a website that truly supports San Diego music. Not
since MP3.com has a website made so much buzz in our town.
SDMusicMatters.com has been a great web partner with us and
we look forward to doing great things as they continue to
grow. SDMusicMatters deserves to be commended for its
un-selfish support of the ever growing San Diego Music
scene." -Mark Rasmussen -President/No Cover Magazine
As a liaison to local culture in San Diego, SDMusicMatters
also explores the cultural caveats that contribute to the
character of San Diego through featured articles, event
reviews, news stories, and video documetaries.
SDMusicMatters seeks to bring awareness of and involvement
in these areas of interest by conducting insightful and
in-depth coverage of local artists, events, designers,
vendors, trends, and locales that are representative of the
city's local flavor.
SDMusicMatters has a full time staff of writers,
photographers and videographers and is currently funded from
contributions by people who love the local music scene.
"Nothing would make me happier than to help propel the San
Diego music scene into national attention. Our sucess is
measured in how well we can help bands reach their dreams."
